1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing cottagecarecompany.ca or using any services provided by Cottage Care Co. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our website or services.
2. Services
Cottage Care Co. provides the following services in the Collingwood and Georgian Bay region:
- ChaletGuard Monitoring: 24/7 IoT sensor monitoring of temperature, humidity, water leaks, air quality, and power status at your property
- Cottage Maintenance: bi-weekly property inspections, trades coordination, and property care
- Season Turn: spring opening and fall closing services
- CottagePantry: pre-arrival grocery and supply stocking (coming soon)
3. ChaletGuard Subscription Terms
Pricing
- Monthly plan: $59/month + $599 one-time sensor installation fee
- Annual plan: $637/year (paid upfront) — sensor installation fee waived
- Watch + Care and Full Service plans are available at higher price points — see our pricing page for details
Billing
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe
- All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes
- We will charge the payment method on file automatically at each renewal
Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time — no long-term contracts
- See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details on refunds and what happens when you cancel
Sensor Equipment
- Sensors installed at your property are yours to keep, regardless of subscription status
- We are responsible for installation and initial configuration
- We are not responsible for sensor damage caused by vandalism, theft, extreme weather events, or misuse
4. Service Area
Our services are currently available in Collingwood, Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach, Thornbury, Meaford, Clearview, Craigleith, and Stayner. Service availability outside these areas is subject to assessment — contact us to inquire.
5. Your Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate contact and property information
- Maintain valid payment information on file
- Grant reasonable access to your property for service delivery and sensor installation
- Notify us of any changes to property ownership, access, or emergency contacts
- Not tamper with, relocate, or modify installed sensors
6. Limitation of Liability
ChaletGuard is a monitoring and alerting service. While we strive to detect and alert you to property issues promptly, we cannot guarantee prevention of all damage. Specifically:
- We are not liable for property damage that occurs despite monitoring — sensors detect issues but cannot prevent them
- We are not liable for delays in contractor response, which depend on third-party availability
- We are not liable for cellular network outages, power failures exceeding battery backup duration, or force majeure events
- Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the claim
7. Accounts
You may create an account to access your dashboard and manage your services. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Creating an account is optional — you can subscribe to ChaletGuard without one.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on cottagecarecompany.ca — including text, images, logos, and software — is owned by Cottage Care Co. and protected by Canadian intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.
9. Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
10. Modifications to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
