With ChaletGuard: alert at 2:48am. Owner called in 15 minutes. HVAC tech coordinated by 3am. Space heaters running by 4:15am. Pipes safe. Total cost: $0 in damage.

Does my cottage need internet for ChaletGuard?
No. ChaletGuard uses its own cellular connection (LTE + 3G fallback) — no Wi-Fi or internet required. It works anywhere with cell signal.
What happens if the power goes out?
You'll get an immediate power outage alert. The sensor has a 3-day battery backup, so it keeps monitoring and reporting. If temperature starts dropping, we'll call you and coordinate a contractor.
How does emergency response work?
When an alert fires, we call you within 15 minutes to explain what's happening. If you need someone on-site, we coordinate with our local contractor contacts — plumbers, HVAC techs — on your behalf. You don't need a plumber's number in Collingwood. We have one.
Is there a contract or commitment?
No contracts. Cancel the $59/month monitoring anytime. The sensors stay installed in your cottage — they're yours.
Can I add ChaletGuard to my insurance claim?
Many insurers offer discounts for monitored properties. The Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations (FOCA) recommends regular monitoring as part of cottage stewardship. We provide documentation for your insurance company on request. Ask your broker — several in the area already know us.
What's the difference between ChaletGuard and a Ring doorbell?
A Ring watches your front door. ChaletGuard monitors the things that actually cause damage — temperature, humidity, water leaks, air quality, and power. And when something goes wrong, we coordinate the fix. Ring sends you a notification from 2 hours away.
