Sectional (modular) docks, pipe and crank docks, and floating docks are the common removable systems on this part of Georgian Bay, and those are what we install and remove. Permanent crib docks stay put and only need inspection and maintenance, which we can also do. If you are not sure which you have, send a photo and we will tell you.
We are a cottage care service, not a dock builder. We install, remove, maintain, and store the dock you already have, and we do it on a reliable seasonal schedule. If you need a brand-new dock built or a major rebuild, we will refer you to a trusted local dock builder and can still handle the seasonal in-and-out afterward. Removal should happen after you are done for the season but before the bay starts to freeze, usually late October into November depending on the year. Installation waits for safe spring conditions, typically May. We watch the conditions and schedule both so you do not have to guess from the city.
On your own property under cover if there is room, which is simplest and cheapest, or moved to an off-site storage spot we coordinate if there is not. Stored dry and off the ground, a dock lasts far longer than one left in the water or lying in the weeds.
Yes. Take-out is the ideal time for repairs: replacing worn decking, tightening or swapping hardware, dealing with failing flotation. We flag anything we find with photos and a quote, and handle the straightforward fixes before the dock goes back in next spring.
